Wherever we go in any part of the world, there will always be Mexican restaurants lurking in the street corners and in lavish dining districts.
Why not? When people from all around the world appreciate and love Mexican cuisines as if they are their own. As for me, burritos, quesadillas, and jalapeños and guacamole dip have become automatic favorites of mine since I tasted them way, way back. And whenever I think of these dishes, I can’t help but Google for the nearest Mexican restaurant.
Are you feeling the craving for some of these flavourful snacks too? If you are, then we’ll give you our top three picks of Mexican restaurants here in Singapore!
Margarita’s Dempsey Hill
What I love about Margarita’s is their vibrant presentation of food on the table. You’ll see the colors alive on your plate when they serve beef enchiladas, beef burrito, and the grand chicken taco salad.
If you’re a pork lover, I suggest you try their Carnitas de Puerco, which is a Mexican roasted pork dish slowly cooked in the oven, and topped with salsa roja, salsa verde, then served with fresh guacamole on the side.
Have a great time with your friends as you drink their Premium Margarita and the more exciting Chile Margarita! Just prepare for the burning sensation of the latter on your mouth. This drink will surely make your experience in Margarita’s at Dempsey Hill more memorable.

Alongside these tasty dishes, you’ll love their refreshing strawberry margarita. Muchos’ fruity margaritas rank high in the patron’s list of favorite drinks. This Mexican restaurant boasts of its Premium Tequila that can be drank straight up or mixed with your cocktail drink. Cafe Iguana has been serving great tequilas, margaritas, and gourmet Mexican meals since the year 2000.
Their signature dish is the Camarones al Diablo that blasts spicy habanero chilis in your mouth. It’s a plate of sautéed prawns basked in ginger, capsicum, and cumin, then topped with lime. It’s best to eat with the balancing cheese and quesadillas on the side. More on the hot scale of Mexican cuisines, Cafe Iguana also serves what they call Fuego Wings which you can mix with hot habanero sauce or a much hotter roasted chilli sauce. Just tell them which one you prefer.
If you’re bringing kids with you, that’s fine. They have mouthwatering desserts like the Sodapilla – tortillas with honey and cinnamon, topped with ice cream. They also serve Churros and Sautéed Bananas, among others. Cafe Iguana’s tacos, fajitas, and burritos come in more neutral flavours too.
